Description

The Home for Little Wanderers is seeking a Part-time Weekend Clinician at their Walpole location to provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive therapy for clients enrolled at the Youth Community Crisis Stabilization (YCCS) program as well as their families. Options for 16 or 20 hours per weekend.

This Masters-level Clinician will have knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidenced-based treatment models. The primary modalities of treatment at the YCCS will include individual, group and family therapies. The Clinician will be responsible for carrying a caseload of youth and will be responsible for intakes, providing case management services, developing treatment plans, implementation of treatment plans and will serve as the primary contact for assigned youth.

How You'll Be Making a Difference

  • Provide case management services; act as a liaison with collateral agencies and programs; establish and maintain relationships/services that support children and family growth. Act as an advocate for families; educate parents on advocating for themselves and their children.

  • Utilize treatment modalities that are consistent with program goals and agency protocol and that best fit with clients’ age and treatment needs, including play/expressive therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.

  • Perform initial assessments and evaluations of new clients and families. Identify treatment needs and barriers to growth and development. Design treatment plans that address needs and specify outcomes. Collaborate with clients and family members to develop treatment objectives. Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity.

  • Must complete all treatment documentation to include initial treatment plans, assessments, progress notes/discharge summaries within set timelines.

  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide quality care. Attend staff meetings and case conferences; present client material. Consult with supervisor and team members on challenging or difficult client issues. Facilitate communication between various providers.

  • Submit reports, documentation and billing in a timely manner. Ensure that documentation meets utilization review and quality assurance standards.

  • Communicate and share information to team members in a timely and effective manner.

  • Facilitate and/or attend treatment planning meetings and family conferences

  • Attend in-service trainings and outside seminars to enhance and develop clinical skills

  • Perform program specific duties and functions

  • May participate in agency committees

  • Provide on-call coverage and crisis-intervention as needed

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, mental health, or related discipline

  • Must have experience working with children and families

  • Must have experience providing treatment to children with a wide range of childhood psychiatric disorders impacting both social and emotional functioning in the home, school and community

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have proficiency in utilizing agency’s electronic medical records

  • Excellent cultural awareness and sensitivity

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications
