Overview

Position Summary:

Identify and manage all key deliverables and critical new technology for ATV/ROV projects from initial concept, multiple design & testing phases, and ultimately pilot and production launch. Performs work under minimum supervision. Handles complex issues/problems. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to design team members.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities of the assigned ATV/ROV project to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe, established budget, and to the scope specified.
  • Create and manage all project schedules, integrating all key aspects and deliverables into a master schedule.
  • Collaborate with Product Planning and Business unit teams for initial model direction and iteration throughout the project balancing all inputs to meet PJ goals.
  • Work with PD Unit/Department manager to identify the work plan and necessary resource allocation for each phase of the project and secure these commitments within the organization design team.
  • Facilitate weekly project status meetings with PD management/engineers, monthly model reviews with YMMC executives / cross functional management, and project gate meetings.
  • Provide frequent status review of engineers assigned design tasks to give technical guidance and to avoid schedule or resource conflict.
  • Serve as the organization's point person for all project related issues and questions.
  • Some design responsibilities may be necessary such as component or vehicle section design utilizing CAD/CAE tools.
  • Chair fabrication tooling/capital approval meetings for the project with YMMC executives.
  • Manage capital funds request / sign off process.
  • Create and monitor testing problem list management and tracking.
  • Prototype test phase management including part procurement and delivery plan.
  • Facilitate QFD evaluation event preparations and meeting support.
  • Manage project budget (cost/tooling) with YMMC cost planning group, cost down activity.
  • Drawing checking prior to release of prototype, fabrication, and instruction.

Qualifications

Experience and Education:
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of project management experience in similar industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
