Your day as a Therapist Supervisor

The Full Time Therapist Supervisor at Wasatch Behavioral Health plays a crucial role in program development and improvement processes. This position involves providing direct first-line supervision, including shift scheduling, hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining staff in our Intensive Care Residential Treatment (IRT) program. Additionally, the Supervisor interfaces with family members, and clients to develop services tailored to meet clients' needs.

This role also includes overseeing clinical services, such as developing and supervising client treatment programs and conducting individual, family, and group psychotherapy. The Supervisor coordinates client transitions, conducts intake assessments, and ensures continuity of care through discharge planning and aftercare programs.

Preference given to those candidates who can conduct clinical supervision
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A. Graduation from a college or university with a masters degree in social work, psychology or a related field
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Psychologist
  • Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or comparable license recognized by the State of Utah which would allow that person to perform individual psychotherapy without supervision.
  • Four (4) years of experience performing above or related duties under supervision approved by the Professional Licensing Division of the Utah State Department of Commerce; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be Licensed to perform psychotherapy without supervision by the State of Utah. May be required to complete State of Utah training in Domestic Violence (16 hr.) annually.
  • Thorough knowledge of psychology, diagnostic classifications, mental health concepts, normal and abnormal psychology; evaluation and various forms of psychotherapy; intervention & patient counseling, mental health care facility programs and procedures.
  • Addiction & dynamics of abuse; crisis intervention & suicide assessment methods; client grievance procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of Substance Use and Treatment programs preferred; Previous experience working with both Youth & Adults.
  • Strong familiarity with Medicaid policies, effective supervision practices, and human resource management principles is essential for success in this role.
