License: Valid license to practice the profession in applicable state.
Certifications:
- Board certification/eligibility based on education and specialty.
- Valid DEA in applicable state.
- BLS or ACLS upon hire in an acute care hospital.
- BLS or ACLS within 90 days of hire in an ambulatory clinic.
Must-Have:
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.
- Residency trained in area of specialty.
Job Description:
- Function independently to provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative and patient-centric manner.
- Deliver care in various settings and modalities, including direct interaction in hospitals or clinics, and through telephone, video, or secure email when necessary.
- Gather patient history, perform physical exams, review prior records, and analyze ancillary data utilizing sound judgment and critical problem-solving skills.
- Develop and monitor appropriate treatment plans while communicating effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
- Provide efficient and compassionate care employing a multidisciplinary approach through communication, continuity, coordination, and evaluation.
- Offer relevant education and counseling to patients and families to support care plans, treatments, and discharge processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, leadership, and medical staff to ensure safe patient care, and communicate significant findings to the team.
- Assist collaborating physicians in managing patients in the hospital, aligning with care site policies, regulations, and approved scope of practice.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and practice metrics while documenting as per regulatory and care site guidelines.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization, adhering to service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may include floating to other departments based on business needs or being placed on-call during a scheduled shift.
