Assembler with Mechanical Focus (Industrial Air Compressor)

Description

The Assembler with Mechanical Focus will perform manual labor within a production line assembling industrial air compressor products, associated parts and accessories, and packing products according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Works as part of a production team to assemble industrial air compressor products and parts
  • Picks up, moves, and sorts small and large parts
  • Uses mechanic tools, basic hand tools, pneumatic and pipe installation tools, and jigs to manipulate parts for assembly
  • Assembles small and large parts manually per specifications
  • Aligns mating parts, performs rotational alignments, and pressure tests
  • Installs switches, panels, and lights; cuts and makes up conduit as directed
  • Constructs controllers and panels, using power drills, drill presses, taps, saws, and punches
  • Removes extraneous material from molded parts
  • Cleans assembled parts and places in protective bags or containers
  • Helps maintain accurate inventory of goods
  • Assumes responsibility for quality control, rejecting products outside specifications
  • Maintains a safe, clean working environment
  • Keeps workstation organized; properly storing parts, tools, test equipment and documentation
  • Keeps area clean and walkways clear
  • Follows safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and company rules and regulations
  • Participates in quality improvement efforts
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Aptitude for mechanics. Experience using mechanic tools, basic hand tools, pipe installation tools and equipment maintenance knowledge
  • Knowledge of air compressor or other pneumatic mechanical equipment preferred
  • Good reading and math aptitude, analytical skills, and basic computer knowledge
  • Good hand-eye coordination, excellent manual dexterity, able to work with small, detailed objects
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable; able to work independently within team focused environment
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation (occasionally 50-75 lbs.); able to regularly bend, twist, and climb
  • Broad level of safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures
  • Willingness to work hours outside of the standard schedule as needed, with appropriate notice when possible
