Software Engineer

Job Duties:
- Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs for multinational computational software company.
- Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Create placement flows which improve efficiency by utilizing automation to arrange electrical components on a silicon wafer to minimize area, routing length, and process variation effects, and improve other performance metrics.
- Update software or enhance existing software capabilities.
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance.
- Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation.
- Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
- Master's degree in Computational Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related engineering occupation.
- Computer science algorithms, and data structures, specifically sorting, graph searching, simulated annealing, list, vector, hash, map, and array, and analysis of these algorithms' and data structures' time and space complexity
- Object-oriented design concepts including data encapsulation, composition vs. inheritance, polymorphism, and patterns like observer, singleton, façade, or bridge
- Utilize C, C++, Shell, or SKILL programming languages to realize object-oriented design concepts, and implement graphical user interfaces, algorithms, and scripts to accelerate electronic design automation flows
- Utilize debugger software tools such as GDB or TotalView to diagnose software related bugs
- Follow software design process flow, including analyzing requirements for missing specifications, compiling/linking code into an executable program, using a versioning system to commit code changes, and analyzing all of these process steps for possible efficiency improvements
