Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Oncology Infusion Suite is responsible for the coordination and delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice, Nursing Code of Ethics and State and Federal guidelines. The RN support seamless patient care. The RN adheres to all Stamford Hospital's policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program. The RN ensures provision of safe and therapeutic care using the values inherent in our hospital culture.

Schedule: This is a per diem position. Minimum of 3 shifts in a 6-week schedule.

Qualifications

1) Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
2) Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
3) Minimum 3 years' experience ; BSN preferred, experience in oncology required.
4) Requires advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the field of nursing and excellent interpersonal skills to deal with critically and sometimes terminally ill cancer patients, as well as patients with hematologic disorders requiring ongoing management. Must be able to demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills.
5) BLS Certified
6) ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider course required
7) ONC certification preferred
8) Must possess a reasonable level of skill with computers and information systems such as EHRs.
