ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide dental services.
  • Meet budgetary revenue and expense expectations for Clinic operations.
  • Train and supervise clinic endeavors of student dental assistant externs working in the dental hygiene clinical practice.
  • Oversee radiographic prescription of all required prescriptive and diagnostic services as required by the State Board of Dental Health Care.
  • Provide student oversight, clinical evaluation and consultations as determined by the Dental Hygiene Program/Clinical Director and Clinic Coordinators.
  • Supervise care during medical emergencies.
  • Collaborate with Clinic Assistant, Clinical Director and Program Director regarding dental clinic.
  • Provide course and/or laboratory instruction as determined by the Dental Hygiene Program Director.
  • Attend scheduled clinical meetings.
  • Participate in faculty in-service training.
  • Support and communicate with Program / Clinical Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current knowledge of the specific subjects taught.
  • Licensed or certified by the appropriate agencies as a dentist.
  • Three (3) years experience as a dentist preferred.
  • Must hold current dental licenses, certifications or other designations as required by local, state or federal laws to work in the field.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and dental computer software.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education or experience that meets the minimum qualifications.
