Job Title: Physical therapist

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Non-Bargaining

Primary Purpose:

The Physical Therapist will carry out an individualized program of Physical Therapy including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. The Physical Therapist will also maintain a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff. This position requires skills in patient/client evaluation and treatment, as well as professional consultations to achieve maximum patient/client independence in accordance with the individual's functional level and potential. The individual shall perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and is reflective of Kahuku Medical Center's mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides direct patient care, evaluates functional needs and outcomes, and consults with other specialists. Reviews patients' functional needs and adjusts care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of potential development and incorporates participation by significant others whenever it seems appropriate.
  • Conducts therapy practice within defined standards of care.
  • Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients' functional goals.
  • Communicates effectively via written, verbal, and digital communication with other professionals and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Practices hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Efficiently documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans. Regularly updates documentation and maintains prescriptions and signatures.
Documentation is to be completed in the Hospital's electronic medical record system.
  • Enhances professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops. Keeps up to date on professional literature.
  • Provides direction and leadership to staff and acts as a resource to promote Physical Therapy in the community.


Job Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:

Required

-Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited Physical Therapy Program.

-Current Active License from the State Board of Physical Therapy.

-Current Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred:

-At least one year experience in post-acute or outpatient setting is preferred. However, new graduates are welcome.

-Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

Physical Requirements:

-Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

-Must be able to life 50 pounds at a time.

-Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Pay Range: $43.51 - $51.26 per hour
