Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides interventions to impact patient’s functionalability (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbalcommunication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.) as delegated bythe Occupational Therapist Understands the role of therapy in the context of thepatient's age, total needs perspective and Environment Participates in the ongoing assessment of the patient forequipment needs, and the reduction of barriers or safety risks (if applicable) Teaches new skills or retrains patients in once-familiardaily activities that have become difficult or unfamiliar due to illness orinjury Consistently reports to the Occupational Therapist regardingpatient progress/status to promote modification of treatment program and anyadverse outcomes Ensures that patient/family understands when and how toreceive further treatment Maintains timely, legible, and efficient patient-caredocumentation Notes remain concise, pertinent and meet clientdocumentation standards Instructs patient and/or family/caregiver in the use ofvarious types of adaptive equipment and/or splints to improve function.
