Responsibilities- Consult and collaborate with School staff and families in regards to students’ speech and language deficits
- Conduct initial screenings as well as comprehensive evaluations in the area of speech and language to determine students’ need for services or need of dismissal from services
- Participate in the IEP process in developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for speech therapy services
- Provide speech therapy sessions through the use of current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP
- Maintain all documentation required by the district and ASHA’s code of ethics including, but not limited to, daily notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEP’s
INDCLIN
Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech- Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) credential offered by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
- Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development
- Current CPR certification
• Efficient problem-solving skills• Exceptional communication skills and time management skills• Must keep best interest of the client and family at the forefront of all activities• Collaborative nature• Allegiance to the mission, values, and vision of the organization
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Demonstrate knowledge of principles, techniques, materials and equipment in pediatric occupational therapy.• Ability to evaluate a patient’s occupational therapy needs and communicate the patient’s needs to the legal guardian and/or appropriate parties involved in the patient’s care.• Ability to communicate with a high degree of written and verbal communication skills• Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.• Knowledge of CPT & ICD 10 coding procedures.• Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.• Demonstrate working knowledge of computer programs (EMRs)
