The Opportunity

We are seeking a Network Security Analyst to support our client, a government agency in Tallahasee, FL.
The candidate will play a crucial role in security administration, firewall management, and network security across our client's IT environment. This role requires a professional who can work independently or as part of a team on complex security projects.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Configure and document firewall infrastructure, manage rule migrations, and administer firewall policies using Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and GlobalProtect VPNs.
  • Monitor and manage core network infrastructure, ensuring security and compliance with NIST guidelines.
  • Develop and implement security policies, and prepare status reports on security matters.
  • Track and monitor software viruses, enforce security protocols, and handle security exceptions.
  • Support IT and business staff on security issues and educate them on security policies.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new security tools and procedures.

Compensation and Term 

This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $105,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications you need

A successful Network Security Analyst has the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of combined IT and security experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience with NIST-based security tools.
  • Experience with Palo Alto or Checkpoint security products preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, databases, and system operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and information.
  • Experience with schematic diagramming tools for infrastructure layouts.
