Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) in our Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and effective coordination of departmental functions during shifts. You will collaborate with managers and staff to evaluate and enhance nursing care delivery, support operational strategies, and assist in recruitment and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Streamline admission and discharge processes to enhance patient care.
- Assess and improve the quality of care provided in collaboration with the management team.
- Foster a team-oriented environment focused on positive patient outcomes.
- Engage in service recovery and maintain a patient-first philosophy.
- Contribute to the training and evaluation of new staff.
- Assist in staff scheduling and labor management.
- Oversee supply and equipment inventory control.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification within 90 days of employment.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
- Current Texas State or Compact State RN license.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience or critical care nursing.
