Global Information Services is the team within Albany chartered with providing leading-edge systems and technologies to internal users as well as Albany customers. GIS provides services ranging from Information Systems Strategy to infrastructure development and maintenance, with a unique and intense focus on customer service.

Job Purpose

As the Business System SAP/FICO Intern, you will assist the team in maintaining the current systems for the Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) business segment, while supporting the developing process requirements to aid continuous improvements and new functionality in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Responsibilities
  • Assist in supporting SAP business systems and controls across finance and costing business functions.
  • Assist in seamless integration between SAP Controlling (CO) and other SAP modules (e.g., SAP Financial Accounting (FI), SAP Materials Management (MM), SAP Sales and Distribution (SD)), as well as with external systems.
  • Work with finance teams to understand business needs and provide solutions that optimize cost tracking, profitability analysis, cost centers, internal orders, and other controlling processes in SAP.
  • Assist in month-end / year-end activities.
  • Work with the ABAP development and interface teams.
  • Assist users with reporting in MS-BI.
  • Assist in creating training documentation and impart training to end users.
  • Willingness to collaborate and support in additional tasks that arise within the GIS team, depending on the company's needs and the intern's experience.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Completed at least three years of college level study towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Finance or related field
  • An ideal candidate for this role should possess a blend of coursework in both Finance (such as Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration) and Information Technology (such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems).
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Basic understanding of SAP modules (e.g., SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP FICO) is a plus.
Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Familiarity with data analysis, reporting tools, and databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
