Description
Medix Infusion is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Addison, TX. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will prepare prescriptions under the direction of Registered Pharmacists and handle various technical duties related to the preparation and dispensing of medications. The position also involves assisting with maintaining compliance and certification for the pharmacy cleanroom and supporting other compounding technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
- Order medications, receive shipments, reconcile packing slips with purchase orders, verify pricing, stock medication and supplies, maintain appropriate par levels, and conduct cycle counts.
- Enter new patient orders, process refills, adjudicate prescription claims, and add appropriate supplies to delivery tickets.
- Ensure proper storage of medications, monitor expiration dates, handle product recalls, and maintain compliance with safety, quality assurance, state, and federal regulations.
- Schedule deliveries, assess supply needs, provide professional customer service, and field questions.
- Work with pharmacy management to maintain cleanroom certification, track compliance documentation, and assist in the validation of compounding technicians.
- Serve as a preceptor for new pharmacy technicians and assist with ongoing staff training.
- Accurately enter medication orders into patient records and process discontinued or expired medications per policy.
- Maintain patient and company confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma required.
- Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Program. Sterile Compounding Certification required.
- Minimum of two years of IV admixture experience in a pharmacy cleanroom environment. Experience with prescription processing and claims adjudication is preferred.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician licensed and registered in the state of Texas. National certification with PTCB is required.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in pharmacy terminology, medications, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with Medix Infusion staff, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and familiar with office equipment. Ability to navigate electronic medical records and company communication tools.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and reading. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
