Human Resources Specialist

We seek an experienced professional, preferably with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience. This is a full-time, 10 month position with the possibility of working remote a couple of weeks during the summer. This position will provide HR support with an emphasis on Recruiting for the Christian Academy School System. Key responsibilities include attracting candidates, interviewing and hiring for various positions, employee relations, policy interpretation, participating in college career fairs, and providing general support to leadership and employees. This individual will also be responsible for assisting in project management including research and gathering of information. This position is located at the Landis Lakes office building, with expectations of travel to both the IN and KY campuses.
Qualifications
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
- A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature, godly spirit
- A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
- A clear passion for learning/teaching others about God's word and personal spiritual growth
- Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy School System
- Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind
- 3+ years experience in an HR department, Bachelor's degree in Human Resources strongly preferred, or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (previous experience with ad creation preferred)
- Effective interpersonal skills, relationship-building skills, and strong customer service orientation
- Proficiency in a Google environment
- A demonstrated commitment to accuracy and ability to work with confidential information
- Willingness to regularly travel to and support both IN and KY campuses, as well as travel to career fairs and colleges (Occasional overnight travel may be required)
- Function as creative and forward-thinking support to all hiring managers for recruiting needs
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to client groups with guidance and policy communication
- Complete research gathering, and analysis of information, contributing to the completion of projects and establishing annual goals
- Develop a recruitment plan through research and identification of sources for candidates, such as job boards, social media, events, and employee referrals
- Promote openings using Handshake and other platforms to widen the talent pool and promote openings
- Network within the community, colleges, and universities to foster relationships and attract qualified candidates
- Travel to career fairs and colleges recruiting candidates
Reporting Relationship
The Human Resources Specialist will report to the Director of Human Resources.
