  • Enjoy a full-time, 0.90 FTE position with night shifts

Position Summary: Provide direct nursing care to a group of assigned patients, with a focus on delivering safe, patient-centered care. Assume relief charge duties as needed and serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and high-quality patient care. Ensure adherence to Hospitals policies and procedures. Opportunities to care for patients of all ages, from neonate to geriatric populations.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required
  • Work in collaboration with the healthcare team, implement and document individualized care plans that incorporate age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching
  • Assist with special tests and procedures and ensure proper consent has been obtained
  • Participate in orientation and preceptor training; assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities for new staff after successful completion
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information
  • Answer phones and triage calls according to departmental policy
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, document and communicate clinical findings
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards
  • Enhance professional development through participation in educational programs, attending meetings, and workshops

Qualifications:

  • Program Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Active RN license in New Mexico or eligible for reciprocity
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS with 30 days of hire
  • Nationally Certified in area of specialty (preferred)
  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people

Working conditions: This position may involve exposure to chemical and/or bio hazardous materials that require personal protective equipment.
