Nashville Veterinary Specialists in Nashville, TN is looking to add a meticulous and experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to oversee all aspects of anesthetic and sedated procedures on our Surgery Team. Compensation: $21 - $38/hr, based on experience and pending skills level assessment. Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week, with participation in a rotating on-call schedule Training: Completion of anesthesia training through NVS and passing of both written and practical exams will be required. Requirements for the Role: Minimum of 3 years working as a veterinary technician, preferably in Specialty, Emergency, or Critical Care medicine. LVMT, CVT, LVT, or RVT license required. Have an in depth understanding of all basic veterinary knowledge, including triage, disease processes, pharmacology, restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, anesthesia, laboratory equipment and procedures, etc. Advanced skill set includes experience monitoring anesthesia and managing patients for a variety of abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, and minimally invasive procedures, surgical prepping and positioning, knowledge of common surgical instruments and their uses, and experience calculating and administering CRI medications appropriately.
