Qualifications
1. Minimum: Master's degree with teaching certification in the area of Communication Disorders
2. Prefer experience with school-aged individuals with disabilities.
3. Must have an understanding of state and federal regulations serving individuals with
disabilities (i.e. Article VII, IDEA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the
ADA, etc...)
Primary Function:
- Implement the goals, objectives and requirements of each individualized education program and utilize the methodology that best fits the student's needs.
- Regularly assess performance and collaborate closely with general and special education colleagues along with relevant administrators and parents.
- May coordinate assistive technology evaluation of student needs and collaborate with general education staff regarding assistive technology
