JOB SUMMARY

The Software Operations Engineer (Ops Engineer) is responsible for enhancing the functionality, efficiency, reliability, and scalability of the company's software systems. The Ops Engineer Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and effective fixes and enhancements to our critical systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with Product Owner (PO) on the design and implementing fixes and enhancements to our core operational systems via agile Kanban. Technologies include Azure, C#, and SQL.
  • Implement automation operational processes.
  • Provide level 3 (most advanced) support for the system.
  • Provide level 2 support with scripts to help diagnose and fix common problems.
  • Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement stable, long-term fixes.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving deployment issues to ensure smooth application delivery.
  • Learn and work with Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, etc.
  • Document processes, procedures, and configurations to maintain a knowledge base.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. Equivalent real-world experience considered.
  • At least two (2) years' experience working in development, software operations, SRE or related discipline.
  • Proven experience programming in C#/.NET.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Experience with at least one (1) scripting language such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting software systems.
  • Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED
  • Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and concepts.
  • Relevant certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
  • Experience administering applications.
  • Experience with production support and tools.
  • Experience with monitors, alerts, and observability tools and practices.
WORKING CONDITIONS/EQUIPMENT USE
  • Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds.
  • Frequent use of office machines to include telephone, computer, and printer.
