We’re searching for a LIDAR Embedded Software Engineer specializing in LiDAR Signal Processing, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing software solutions that enable our LiDAR systems to accurately process and interpret incoming sensor data. Leveraging your expertise in embedded systems and digital signal processing, you will work closely with our hardware and algorithm teams to ensure seamless integration of our LiDAR technology.

In this role, you will

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement embedded software requirements for LiDAR signal processing
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain firmware and software components for real-time LiDAR data processing, including sensor data acquisition, calibration, noise reduction, and feature extraction
  • Implement and validate advanced signal processing algorithms to enhance LiDAR system performance, accuracy, and reliability
  • Participate in hardware-software co-design activities to ensure efficient utilization of FPGA resources and seamless interaction between software and hardware components
  • Contribute to system-level integration, testing, and debugging efforts to ensure proper functionality and performance of the complete LiDAR solution
  • Collaborate with software and hardware teams to support product testing, validation, and deployment, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in FPGA-based signal processing techniques, and integrate relevant insights into the development process

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the field of LiDAR, radar, or other sensor-based technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and familiarity with FPGA programming languages (e.g., VHDL, Verilog).
  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx Versal FPGAs and related toolchains.
  • Solid understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software best practices.
  • Experience with debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams and convey complex technical concepts.

Desirable Qualifications (this section is optional)

  • Experience with LiDAR sensor technology and LiDAR data processing algorithms.

The base salary range for this position is $191k-$306K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
