Nursing Educator:

A hospital with a clinical advancement program is seeking a nursing educator for their trauma/surgical ICU department. The role involves providing leadership in enhancing specialized patient care, initiating unit-based strategies for developing clinical skills, performing as the clinical instructor for nursing students, and collaborating with the clinical nurse specialist and unit director. Candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing with at least 18 months of directly related experience and hold several certifications including RN in NM. The role also offers up to $8 in addition to base pay depending on Nursing Education and National Certifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care within clinical protocols
  • Developing patient plans of care incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards
  • Collaborating with the Clinical Educator as well as the Clinical Nurse Specialist, Specialty RN, or Unit Director to plan and implement pertinent curricula
  • Delivering safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, providing specialized patient care within nursing protocols and assisting with the admission, transfer, and discharge process performing all RN nursing duties
  • Encouraging patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may not seem right.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • 18 months directly related experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
  • Current Instructor in BLS, ACLS, NRP or other instruct cert
  • Instructor in Unit-Required Certifications obtained within 1 year of position (BLS, ILS, NRP, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, etc)

Physical Conditions: Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Working conditions: Requires handling chemicals and bio hazardous materials that require PPE.
