Job Title: Grain Operator Job Description As a Grain Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our grain handling facilities. This includes performing preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities, maintaining grain inventories, segregating grain by type, and ensuring grain quality. Additionally, you will blend and load out grain by truck or train, operate scale house, and work with customers to resolve any issues. Your role is crucial in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and quality of our operations. Hard Skills Facility and equipment maintenance Grain space management Grain grades, quality, and condition monitoring Operation of scale house software Problem-solving Customer service Communication Attention to detail Work Environment The role requires sitting or standing for long periods, frequent walking, climbing, balancing, and moving up to 60 pounds. Extensive use of a shovel and broom may be necessary. You will be exposed to machinery, moving parts, grain dust, hazardous materials, and adverse weather conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Extended seasonal hours and high noise levels are part of the job, demanding high alertness and endurance.
