Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator

The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator plays a key role in the smooth execution of multiple clinical trials through coordination and oversight ensuring compliance with established research protocols and standards. Additionally, this role will review study candidates' medical records ensuring study eligibility and obtain proper consent from patients for clinical research studies. Responsibilities also include performing vital signs, venipuncture/phlebotomy, nasal swabs, and medication dispensing and tracking. Using good documentation practices, monitor and maintain case reports, forms, and charts that follow established SOP, GCP, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provide coordination and oversight for the execution of clinical trials
- Review study candidates' medical records for study eligibility
- Consent patients for clinical research studies
- Monitor and maintain case report forms, charts and documentation
- Perform vital signs, venipuncture/phlebotomy, nasal swabs and medication dispensing and tracking as need for studies
- Ensure strict compliance with established research protocols and standards along with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedural requirements
- Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, patients, and sponsors
- Provide input regarding IRB correspondence and regulatory documentation. Submit documentation as required.
- Follow established SOPs, GCP and other applicable regulatory requirements in the execution of all research activities
- Clinical office environment
- May involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Frequent use of keyboard and mouse
- Frequent use of computer monitors and other electronic screens
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping
- Occasional ability to lift 10 pounds
- Ability to differentiate colors according to study protocols
REQUIRED
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current state LVN licensure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Outstanding patient care skills
- 2 or more years of nursing or clinical research coordinator experience
- Current state RN licensure
- Charge RN experience
- Phlebotomy license and experience
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification
- Knowledge of clinical research operations, including Good Clinical Practice guidelines
TRAVEL
Less than 5% within the geographic region of the assigned work location
OTHER DUTIES
In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, this role may perform other tasks or projects as assigned by a supervisor or manager. These additional duties will fall within the scope of the role and contribute to the overall success of the team.
