How you can make a bigger difference: The Jewish Board's Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff uses a culturally competent, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities. Family and Youth Peer Support (FYPS) Services support and empower parents/caregivers of children and youth (birth - age 24) who are experiencing social, emotional, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges, and the children and youth themselves. This program is part of a network of FYPS programs throughout New York City. The network consists of five non-profit organizations (one in each borough); each of these organizations establishes and coordinates an Alliance that consists of the prime contractor and subcontracting organizations within their service area which, all together, will provide a comprehensive range of formal and informal community-based family and youth support services. Is a parent/caregiver of a child who has experienced social, emotional, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges and has 'lived experience' navigating multiple child serving systems on behalf of their child(ren) with social, emotional, developmental, health and/or behavioral healthcare needs. Complete trainings recommended and offered by the Center as well as the FPA credentialing process within 18 months of being hired Collaborate with families to assess their needs and link them to appropriate resources in their community Share personal knowledge and experiences about the youth serving system Partner with other staff members and teams of the Vibrant Alliance to provide supportive services Conduct outreach and presentations to schools, early intervention programs, clinics, and other community-based providers with a special emphasis on connecting with communities that have been historically hard to reach Any additional duties assigned. Qualifications: The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications: Able to complete the FPA credentialing process within 18 months of being hired.
