TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 25% E&M Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Journeyman Telecommunications Engineering Specialist to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO in support of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)/United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Services (NITES). NORAD is a United States and Canada bi-national organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning for North America. Aerospace warning includes the detection, validation, and warning of attack against North America whether by aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles, through mutual support arrangements with other commands.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the efforts of the deployment project managers, infrastructure management, systems management, and engineering teams.
  • Directs and manages efforts of telecom technicians and workloads.
  • Stays apprised of all inter and intra organizational projects and issues in EUE.
  • Ensures internal processes and procedures are documented and updated.
  • Ensures that all OLAs for all relevant processes are created and maintained.
  • Develops and conducts employee performance reviews and monitor progress towards objectives quarterly and provide updates and revisions as required.
  • Responsible for telephone port allocations.
  • Provides interface to customer on high-level issues or requests.
  • Oversees day-to-day resolution of system problems and root cause analysis.
  • Ensures documentation of entire Telecom Network and infrastructure.
  • Ensures the Change Management Process is being followed. Collaborate with LAN/WAN organizations on current and future network configurations.
  • Provides management and serves as an escalation point for the deployment and infrastructure staffs.
  • Provides guidance to staff and monitors performance.
  • Provides monthly reporting on open project, outstanding issues, and staff performance.
  • Works special projects as assigned by manager.
  • Ensures that Telecom Equipment Tracking system is updated with all relevant changes and modifications are completed.
  • Builds efficient relationships with interface organizations (i.e., CREF, Site Support, and ITO).
  • Ensures that the staff meets the established SLAs.
  • Monitors ticketing queues.
  • Ensures system backups and preventative maintenance occur on a scheduled basis.
  • Ensures maintenance vendors are performing to the contract.
  • Oversees troubleshooting and resolution ensuring escalation in a timely fashion.
  • Provides and keeps current detailed documentation of processes.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a CompTIA Security + Certification at time of hire or a scheduled test date within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone or in person
  • Must be able to present themselves in a professional manner
  • Must be willing (if needed) to commute to a different location on Peterson SFB
  • Must be able to complete the MD-100 Percipio Course 30 days after start
  • Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility security clearance
Must have 2 or more years' experience with:
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations in support of business processing requirements
  • Software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
  • Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures
  • Imaging NIPR & SIPR devices to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Experience installing, uninstalling and troubleshooting Trusted Thin Clients (TTC) and a basic understanding of a virtual environment.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
  • Maintain a continuous monitoring effort for all incident and service request to ensure a continuous improvement environment for quality of service
  • Contacting customers to provide real time updates regarding incident and/or service request(s)
  • Maintained access to NIPR, SIPR workstations, and all additional programs used to assist the N & NC users
  • Knowledge of DoD Mailbox provisioning using DOD Enterprise Provisioning Online (DEPO)
  • Administrative privileges and experience using Active Directory such as creating, moving and deleting users and computers.
  • Configuring, imaging, troubleshooting and utilizing Commercial Solution for Classified Solutions (CSFC) devices
  • Installing, configuring & provisioning SVOIP devices through a call manager.
  • Resolving technical issues through a remote access capability
  • Familiarization with Xerox & HP printers to include Print Management functions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of C2BMC and VLC application
  • Comprehends and Informs user base of educated responses in network outages or degradations
  • Develops tier 0 implementations to enhance the network environment
  • Understanding of incident management and COMSPOT reporting
  • Ability to adapt in a fast pace and high demand environment
  • Flexibility to provide services during and outside of regular business hours if requested by Government Service Owners/Teams
  • Comprehension of service desk Tactical Training Processes (TTP) & Standard Process Models (SPM)
  • Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
  • Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Basic Understanding of DoD environment
  • Must be comfortable carrying up to 35-50 lbs.
  • Performing tier 1 troubleshooting at the physical layer
  • General knowledge on computer functions, shortcuts and virtual environments
