About the Job:
CoreCivic is seeking a talented Dentist with a passion for providing outstanding care in a correctional facility setting. In this role you would be responsible for all professional dental care for inmates/residents. Qualified candidates will have graduated from an approved school of dentistry and have licensure as a dentist in the state of employment.
- Perform routine dental treatments such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, and root canals as appropriate
- Develop, coordinate, and supervise the facility dental program to include advising and instructing inmates/residents
- Recruit, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate subordinate staff
- Collaborate with other healthcare staff to coordinate specialized or emergency dental care as needed
- Maintain dental files, inventory medications and dental supplies, and control pharmacy use for adherence to formulary
- Provide input for facility dental budget requests
- Audit pharmacy use for adherence to formulary
- Coordinate the movement of inmates/residents to and from different areas for dental treatment
- Respond to emergencies as required
