Position Overview:
We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Surgical Technologists to join our network of healthcare professionals. As a Surgical Tech contracted through our staffing agency, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and specialty clinics. This flexible role offers the freedom to choose assignments based on your availability and preferences.
Responsibilities:
Assist surgical team before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and readily available.
Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, including setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes according to the surgeon's preference and the type of procedure.
Anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical team members during procedures, passing instruments and supplies efficiently and accurately.
Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent surgical site infections and ensure patient safety.
Monitor surgical equipment and instrumentation, troubleshoot issues as needed, and communicate any equipment malfunctions or shortages to the surgical team.
Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping, ensuring proper patient safety and comfort during procedures.
Prepare and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
Clean and disinfect operating rooms and surgical instruments after procedures, following standardized procedures and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
Current and valid certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Surgical Technologist in a relevant healthcare setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team.
Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
