Description

The Oliver Hotel in Oxford is in search of a welcoming and enthusiastic Host/Hostess to become a valued member of our team. Your role will be pivotal as the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring their stay is not only pleasant but also memorable. Join us in creating remarkable and lasting impressions for each visitor, guaranteeing a seamless and enjoyable experience by extending a warm greeting and promptly attending to their needs.

Responsibilities

• Learn the menu, including the daily specials and accurately describe how dishes are prepared
• Check the dining room constantly for cleanliness and organization and restock condiments on the table as necessary
• Greet guests warmly as they enter to create a positive first impression of the restaurant
• Help clear and wipe down tables and set up tables with utensils and glassware for the next party
• Handle booking of reservations, be quick to solve seating problems, and troubleshoot any phone inquiries from customers

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills, time management, organization skills, and the ability to handle customer requests and situations quickly with a pleasant demeanor
• Adapt easily to working in a fast-paced team environment with long hours of standing on feet and moving around
• Prior food services or hospitality service industry experience is preferred but not required
• Strong work ethic
