POSITION SUMMARY

The primary function of the Quality Assurance Engineer is to partner with the QA Manager to help plan, coordinate and lead the activities associated with preparing for, obtaining and sustaining quality system registration. He/she is part of the team that develops and maintains systems for capturing and transferring employee knowledge. He/she helps ensure the QMS and Knowledge Management systems meet the multiple requirements of ISO/IATF-16949 and Customer Requirements by designing and simplifying processes to meet all requirements simultaneously.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The section is not intended to be an all-inclusive list and NGK Ceramics reserves the right to include other duties as assigned):

A. Assists in the preparation, implementation, and improvement of the facility Quality Management System to ensure compliance with ISO/IATF and Customer Requirements.

B. Supports all ISO/IATF 16949 and Customer Requirement compliance program activity requirements with other internal and external auditors.

C. Follows the internal audit process, including schedule adherence and maintains audit records as evidence.

D. Assists with data extraction from data feedback systems required to effectively evaluate the Quality Management System.

E. Actively participates in cross-functional plant-wide teams to assist in driving quality improvements, process improvements, business system enhancements and process standardization.

F. Assists the QA Manager with corporate initiatives at NGK-ACJ-QA by participating on teams in order to identify and drive best practices across the plant.

G. Assists the QA Manager by ensuring the QMS and Knowledge Management systems meet the multiple requirements of ISO/IATF 16949 & Safety-Environmental.

H. Supports continuous improvement activities on related quality tools, systems, and processes such as root cause analysis, FMEA, Control Plans, and process flows. Develops, coordinates, and implements training programs relative to the Quality Management System.

I. This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

IV. REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and/or Experience

1. Bachelor's degree, preferably with a technical related major.

B.Required Communication Skills

1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

3. Ability to speak effectively before customers or members of organization.

Required Mathematical Skills

1. Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

2. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent; capacity to draw and interpret charts and graphs.

Required Reasoning Ability

1. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

E. Additional Skills and Qualifications

1. Should be proficient with computer systems including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

2. CAPAC knowledge is a plus.

3. Basic QA technical skills are also a plus including experience with application of statistical quality control techniques.

4. Familiarity with procedures including SFMEA, APQP, PPAP, etc. is highly desirable.

5. Manages time wisely in order to achieve project deadlines.

VII. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS/PPE

A. Safety shoes must be worn while on NGK property.

B. The employee will work in multiple areas and will abide by any safety requirements; hearing, head and eye protection are required in designated areas or under prescribed work conditions.
