Quality Technician

Description: Performs inspections, testing, monitoring, and auditing of incoming raw materials and packaging to quality standards. Troubleshoots, investigates, and reacts to non-conforming raw materials and packaging, including product dispositions, corrective actions, and credit requests. Maintains electronic database housing quality records such as internal specifications and vendor documents including COA’s. Develops strong working relationships with supplier contacts (Quality, Customer Service, and/or purchasing). Provides technical assistance and support to Purchasing and Product Development, during vendor and/or raw material or packaging approvals. Monitors aging raw material and packaging inventory and reacts accordingly: including requests for shelf-life extensions and communication with materials management. Participates in the sensory evaluation of raw materials and finished products as required. Performs other related duties or projects as assigned. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors of science in Food Science One year of experience of quality control within a food manufacturing environment Sensory testing experience Excellent customer service Computer Savvy: Microsoft excel and Microsoft D365 Experience Level: Entry Level About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
