Pay: $38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is based on relevant experience.
Summary:
Join our dedicated team as a Charge Nurse in our Labor & Delivery department. In this role, you will provide essential nursing leadership for your shift and ensure high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff during your assigned shift, managing staffing levels and assignments based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
- Deliver direct patient care when required and collaborate with staff to resolve any challenges. You may also take on patient assignments as needed to maintain exceptional care delivery.
- Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of patient care, addressing any concerns or complaints through proper channels.
- Perform essential tasks specific to this role, including entering orders, managing admissions and discharges, and coordinating patient transfers. Ensure staff are equipped with the necessary tools for delivering safe, quality care.
- Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered Nursing program if you have less than 3 years of experience.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- NRP certification is required within 3 months of hire; ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; must promote to Charge Nurse III within 3 years of hire.
- Valid BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with a card in-hand before the start date.
