Job Summary

The Wound, Ostomy, & Continence Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care given to patients with a wound, ostomy, or continence issue, while providing consultation to staff regarding patient management in these areas. The RN will also assist with reviews of policies and procedures related to wound, ostomy and continence care and participate in pertinent committees and task forces. Additionally, the RN will contribute to research studies related to wound, ostomy, and continence care when feasible and incorporate current research into practice.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • A minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience with wound care/ostomy preferred or two years of medical-surgical experience required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
  • Certified Wound, Ostomy, Nurse (CWOCN) or equivalent within one year of hire or WOC program letter of acceptance
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
