This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of manufacturing engineers, we provide technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Our responsibilities include translating engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight. Throughout the manufacturing process, we are responsible to improve quality, reduce cost, and to optimize build sequence. Our team also creates, interprets, and modifies work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing processes: fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment.
- Manage quality, build sequence, and schedule for hardware manufacturing processes.
- Perform engineering drawing impact assessments, reviews and approvals for manufacturing.
- Disposition, management, and closure of non-conformance repair and rework activities.
- Manage hardware configuration and steward build and test pedigrees.
- Lead efforts to identify, develop, and deploy designs and methodologies that improve operational excellence through quality, cost, design, and process improvements.
- Support the manufacturing floor in assembly and installation, compliance to engineering requirements, discrepancy resolution, and component acceptance testing.
- Perform a hands-on engineering and liaison role between our design, test, and operations teams and our manufacturing customers.
- Investigate root causes, disposition vehicle discrepancies, and take ownership of preventative and corrective actions.
- Drive design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA)
- Design for Excellence (DFX)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 10+ years manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive or similar.
- Extensive experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity in one or more of the following areas: Vehicle Integration, Instrumentation, Structures, Harnesses, Fluids systems, Propulsion, Hydraulics Systems, or Avionics.
- Extensive experience with new product development.
- Proven ability to mentor manufacturing engineers with less experience.
- Demonstrated ownership in your area of responsibility.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including working knowledge of GD&T.
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
- Ability to develop processes compliant with industry quality systems such as AS9100.
- Customer focused with a proven ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Familiar with applicable industry standards (NAS, ASTM, MIL, etc.)
- Ability to support scheduled work shift (we may rotate shifts occasionally) and work off-shift (2nd or 3rd shifts), extended hours, and weekends if/when vital.
- Must be physically able to: support production floor activities; climb stairs and work in small areas; lift and carry 40 lbs.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or similar) from an accredited college or university
- Aerospace/Launch vehicle experience.
- Broad experience in hardware manufacturing: welding, assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, packaging, fabrication, machining, etc.
- Experience with Production Readiness Reviews
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems/Software and processes
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, integration processes, systems engineering practices, test, quality, and configuration management systems
- Understanding and applied experiences in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
