Pain Management Physician Assistant Specialist

Job Summary
As a Pain Management Physician Assistant Specialist, you will play a vital role in our healthcare team, performing diagnostic and therapeutic tasks under the supervision of a physician. Your primary focus will be to establish patient diagnoses and develop effective therapy plans while serving as a dedicated patient advocate, ensuring seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments and triage patients based on their presenting conditions.
- Monitor and track relevant procedure and laboratory results, discussing findings with the physician and updating families and patients accordingly.
- Facilitate appropriate follow-up care for patients.
- Engage with established patients and their families, addressing their needs through direct communication.
- Collaborate with the physician to discuss treatment plans and relay essential information to patients and their families.
- Assist in obtaining preauthorization for medications, diagnostic studies, and treatments as necessary.
- Screen patients and participate in care planning activities.
Work is conducted in a clinical environment, where accountability for fulfilling job obligations and adherence to organizational policies is paramount. This position requires competency in department-specific skills as part of your overall performance.
Position Details
Education: Master's Degree in Physician Assistant (Required)
Experience: Relevant clinical experience preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
