Job Description

This position is accountable for those pharmacy services which require pharmaceutical education and state
licensure; leadership experience and extensive clinical and professional judgment. Staff pharmacists review
medication orders for appropriateness, fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapies, provide
drug information, and supervise and direct support personnel. These duties are performed according to
departmental policies and procedures, and as scheduled by the supervisory staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
To qualify a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is required.
Licensing/Certifications
New York State Pharmacist License required
Experience:
one (1) year (2,080 hours) institutional experience in a hospital setting
or PGY 1 or three (3) years of community
pharmacy experience (full time) is preferred.

Requirements

Possesses excellent mathematical ability, attention to detail, concentration, and alertness.

Knows how to organize and prioritize work while illustrating good time management skills

Demonstrates the ability to safely handle medications

Exhibits professional and respectable oral communication with co workers, patients, outside vendors, and
other health care affiliates.

Presents aptitude to multi task, work independently, and engage in teamwork

Can proficiently read, write, speak, and understand English.

Is open to training/giving and receiving instructions.
