Electrical Engineer BS Degree

Job Summary:

Our client in Liberty, NC is looking for a Electrical Engineer BS Degree. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

This position is being created to support battery project electrical planning and validation needs. There are a few phases that we are looking for support on for project:
  • Specification and procurement of electrical devices, such as circuit breakers, bus plugs, transformers, etc. needed to supply equipment electrical utilities
  • Confirmation of physical layout for bus plugs, cable tray, data cable tray, etc.
  • Work with a 3rd party contractor to develop easypower model in order to evaluate the simulated Available Fault Current (AFC) vs the Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) of electrical components to ensure compliance and manage the list of non-compliance items and mitigation measures.
  • Onsite review and management of trip unit settings for substation breakers and oversight of implementation of those settings with facility team.
  • Utilization of electrical codes NFPA70E NEC, NFPA79, etc. to guide direction for electrical compliance.
Basics:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering / Master Electrician License.
  • 5 years required, 10 years preferred in depth knowledge of electrical codes such as NFPA70E NEC/NFPA79
  • 5 years required, 10 years preferred specifying and procuring electrical equipment 1000V and below.
  • 5 years required, 10 years preferred with easypower electrical design software.
  • 5 years required, 10 years preferred in an electrical systems or equipment installation planning type role.
  • 5 years required, 10 years preferred experience mitigating fault current and arc flash issues
  • 5 years required, 10 years preferred experience designing cable tray routing paths, panel layouts, network switches, and associated hardware.
