Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Starr)

This full-time position provides direct mental health and/or substance use services for clients. Consults with teams and psychiatrists to provide the best possible clinical services to our clients.

Education/Experience/Other Requirements:

  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Previous experience as a Psychiatric APRN is preferred.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current unencumbered RN and Advanced Practice Licensure including a Certificate of Authority and a Certificate to Prescribe within the specialty scope of practice in the State of Ohio.
  • DEA Registration.
  • Must execute and maintain a standard care agreement with a psychiatrist on staff at the agency.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet agency needs and must be able to arrange and manage schedule of client appointments.
  • Must be competent in clinical psychiatric assessment, clinical counseling, and psychiatric pharmacological interventions to treat acute and chronic mental health and/or substance use problems.
Primary Duties:
  • Provides direct mental health services to clients in accordance with established agency and program policies, procedures, philosophy, and client needs.
  • Documents client/program activities.
  • Provides clinical supervision and oversight to APRN students in accordance with licensing boards and regulations.
