Job Description

The Recruiting Assistant plays a key role in administratively supporting the Staffing unit in the research, development, and implementation, and tracking strategies to attract and maintain a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting. Assists in developing leads that can be viable candidates for future openings. Assist the unit in tracking goals for the recruiting and hiring processes. Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need, including the inquiry form. Assist Sr. Staffing Specialists in using automated screening technology to facilitate more efficient screening. Maintains and develops custom reports to meet the requirements of HR management and staff. Assists Staffing Director in reaching out to hiring manager to minimize time-to-fill.

Mid Salary
$43,877.79 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.

Duties/Functions
  • Research, develop and maintain a database for the College's current and future recruitment efforts
  • Monitor the status of each posted position throughout the posting period for candidate volume, quality, and special intervention needs.
  • Assist with orientation, background checks, and pre-employment duties.
  • Provides support in the research of policies and best practices
  • Assist with applicant and new hire communication
  • Communicate with hiring managers on advertising status, candidate status, and issues/additional needs or extensions bi-weekly.
  • Recommend changes to current processes to provide more effective support to HR Leadership to implement these changes.
  • Coordinate the logistics of external career fairs.
  • Serve as a back-up to loading vacancy information into People Admin.
  • Draft HR procedural documentation as needed.
  • Ensure hiring manager's awareness of veteran applicants.
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Education Required
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology. or related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution or a equivalent combination of education and experience.
OR
2 years of HR experience or other administrative experience in a confidential environment

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency

  • Experience working in an education or public sector environment

  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting guidelines about HR reporting needs.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure.
