Your Opportunity:

As an Automation Robotic Programmer, you will be focused on programming and writing code to ensure our robot based automated solutions execute to our customers' standards. The Automation Programmer will be responsible for participating in regular project meetings to ensure automation projects and timelines are progressing as planned with internal stakeholders. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders, analyzing requirements, and delivering high-quality automation solutions that drive efficiency and productivity.

What you'll be doing:

60% of the time

  • Write Robotic Programs for Automation projects
  • Write Robotic Programs for proving Automation Concepts in Greenheck's Proof of Concept (POC) Lab
  • These programs vary from medium to high complexity
  • Integrate auxiliary equipment, such as machine vision, into the robotic programs
  • Work with Automation Team Principal Engineers to strategize best way to automate a process with robotics
  • Manage multiple medium complexity Automation projects from start to finish

25% of the time

  • Write PLC-HMI programs using various software packages
  • These programs vary from medium to high complexity
  • Create electrical schematics and electrical cabinet layout using AutoCAD electrical
  • Order parts for projects using Ariba Purchasing system
  • Wire and fabricate electrical control panels.
  • Wire external machine components to electrical cabinet
  • Develop Electrical Parts List for medium complexity projects

10% of the time

  • Work with IT Application developers with program integrations
  • Travel to Greenheck Group facilities to install machines and train maintenance and manufacturing personnel across the organization
  • Support automation and controls technicians with their projects
  • Provide parts lists with standard components used
  • Research safety devices appropriate for their application
  • Provide programming assistance

5% of the time

  • Design medium complexity machine guarding strategies that comply with OSHA and ANSI standards, to ensure the safety of our Greenheck teammates
  • Power up, troubleshoot, and commission machine to make production ready
  • Integrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems into the machine electrical control system
  • Post machine installation troubleshooting and support for complex issues throughout the entire life cycle of the machine

What you should have:

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in automation programming for a level I role. If you have no degree 2-4 years of relevant work experience in automation programming is required
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience in automation programming required for a level II role, without a degree 6-8 years of relevant work experience in automation programming is required
  • Good working knowledge of ABB Robot Studio, and/or Fanuc ROBOGUIDE robotic programming software
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions in a variety of formats (instruction manuals, electrical schematics, written, or verbal instructions).
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer and phone. Sedentary work. Substantial motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The person is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. There is an occasional need for walking short distances. Work may be performed in company's setting, home, or hybrid.
