Shift: full-time with off premise call after hours, weekends and Holidays

Job Summary:
  • The sonographer performs transthoracic echocardiograms, treadmill exercise stress echocardiograms, Holter/ Event monitor setup and reporting, and assists with ECG stress testing.
Job Duties:
  • Performs and processes echocardiographic examinations including two-dimensional, three dimensional, M-mode, Doppler, and special procedures and exercise techniques.
  • Performs emergency procedures when necessary; transports equipment and patients.
  • Assists with special procedures including transesophageal echocardiography, intraoperative echocardiography, pericardiocentesis, and contrast echocardiography.
  • Analyzes and files echocardiographic data utilizing digital computer analysis systems.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining internal training programs and in technical instruction of echocardiographic techniques.
  • Assists in approved research activities.
  • Performs mobile Echo service as directed.
  • Interprets and follow policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Must have completed a cardiac sonography education program and hold a certificate/diploma or associated degree in echocardiography or diagnostic imaging.
Special Skills, Licenses or Certifications:
  • Must be registered RDCS or RCS.
  • Maintain continual medical education as required by registry.
  • BLS/ACLS.
