What we're looking for:

TextExpander is seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Software Engineer to our ranks. As a fully remote position, you'll enjoy the flexibility to work from anywhere, allowing you to balance your personal and professional life seamlessly.

To thrive in this role, you'll need at least 2-3 years of experience in a software engineering or software development role and a strong familiarity with web development technologies, including JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB. Additionally, experience working on Windows or MacOS applications will be a valuable asset.

Responsibilities:
  • Play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our TextExpander product.
  • Develop robust, scalable full-stack solutions using a diverse technology stack that includes JavaScript/Typscript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB.
  • Collaborate with UX Designers and Product Managers as part of Agile mission teams to create user-friendly, intuitive software.
  • Work cross-functionally to understand the needs of our users and translate those needs into practical and effective features.
  • Implement and maintain a high standard of code quality through best practices and code reviews.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing software issues as they arise.
  • Help evolve our stack and mentor our engineers by sharing the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in the development community.
Skills:
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Proficient in Typescript - with an emphasis on Cross-Platform App Development, Hybrid App Development or Web Development
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a remote work setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a creative and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
