What You'll Be Doing:

Under direction of the Database Manager & Senior Level Team Members, you would be conducting performance tuning & configuration, creating data models & providing Tier II database support:
  • Providing Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) subject matter expertise in SQL Server & intermediate knowledge of Oracle.
  • Providing Production On-Call support for the RDBMS backend repositories of critical applications such as CoreSuite, External & Internal WEB Applications.
  • Administering RDBMS using DBA tools (e.g., native Microsoft & Oracle Products, Idera Data Management Software, & TOAD Products).
  • Using knowledge of Data Warehouse integration processes to support the current Snowflake Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Environment.
  • Using database administration skills to conduct performance tuning & configuration & provides technical support to application development teams, enforces security database object standards, troubleshooting database problems.
  • Participating in BWC's Change Review Board.
  • Performing data migrations & business process monitoring.
  • Resolving problems & issues (e.g. support ticket resolution, application performance problems, backup & restores.
  • Researching product enhancements & capabilities.
  • Staying current with emerging technologies.
  • Implementing documentation of installation & monitoring procedures, security policies, configuration changes, migration procedures & best practices.

Qualifications

To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate:

  • 60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: conducting performance tuning and configuration, creating data models and providing technical Tier II database support including 12 mos. work experience in the primar y technology (Database Support- Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS) specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
  • Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems AND 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: conducting performance tuning and configuration, creating data models and providing technical Tier II database support including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology (Database Support- Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS) specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems AND 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: conducting performance tuning and configuration, creating data models and providing technical Tier II database support including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology (Database Support- Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS) specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
  • Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
