The Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing care for patients in the Center for Fetal Medicine (CFM) and Maternal Fetal Medicine Practice (MFM) including non-stress testing and participation in intrauterine procedures.
  • Responsibilities include telephone triage of the high-risk antenatal patient.
  • Working in partnership with MFM and CFM providers to provide direct patient care and education.
  • Working collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment.
  • Maintains annual mandatory education requirements, which include emergency skills and unit-based competencies.
  • Identifies needs for continued growth and development in conjunction with the Ambulatory Nurse Educator and Medical Director.
  • Participates in activities that contribute to professional development.
  • May participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

To qualify you must have:

Education:
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required for newly licensed nurses.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent (within 1 year) clinical nursing experience in OBGYN is required.
  • Experience in high-risk OB required.
  • Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring is required.
  • Clinical nursing experience in an ambulatory clinic/practice setting is preferred.
  • Labor and delivery experience preferred.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
Other:
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is preferred.
  • Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.
