Position Purpose: The Community Clinical Therapist works within the Clinical team and is dedicated to supporting individuals, families and/or children by offering strength-based and trauma informed therapy to facilitate and support mental and emotional health, as well as healthy parenting and communication. The Community Clinical Therapist will also provide support through clinical case management, diagnostic evaluations, and counseling. The position will work in conjunction with the other departments within the Community Wellness Program, within schools, and across the hospital. The Community Clinical Therapist will also be responsible for conducting intake assessments; providing individual therapy/counseling, couples and family therapy, and group therapy/support; and conducting mental health evaluations for legal cases that directly result from victimization. This role requires flexible scheduling to meet client and staff needs and may require evening and/or weekend shifts as well as some travel.

Essential Functions (list in order of importance including measures)
  1. Provides direct clinical services to clients, which include intake, assessment, and treatment planning, for an array of services including individual, family, couples, and group therapy, as well as individual parenting support. 50%
  1. Documents all interactions and services provided in the client's case file and manage files according to grant and regulatory requirements. 20%
  2. Actively contributes to and participates in supervision, staff meetings, in-services, mental health coalition and community partnership meetings. 10%
  3. Provides off-site educational workshops and services, community outreach, establishes and facilitates support/therapeutic groups in the community. 5%
  4. Completes Mental Health Evaluations for U-Visa and VAWA Applicants. 5%
  5. Participates in program planning and evaluation activities. Is also accountable for monitoring, documenting, and tracking program and client data, for themselves and supervisees, and ensuring compliance with grant-related or hospital-related documentation requests. 5%
  6. Attends trainings and workshops assigned to provide culturally appropriated and quality services to the population served. 5%
  7. Performs other activities as needed and percentages will shift as program evolves


Marginal Functions (list in order of importance)
  1. Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital's confidentiality norms and standards.
  2. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital and Ascension Health in all interactions with others.
  3. Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  4. Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies, as appropriate.
  5. Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees as required.
  6. Maintains professional knowledge base through literature review, seminars, workshops, meetings and in-services throughout the calendar year. Participates in professional association activities, and obtains Continuing Education hours as necessary to maintain clinical licensure.
General Job Requirements (List any required knowledge, skills, experiences, or training, including length of time necessary for proficiency, required to perform the job.)
  1. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Illinois required. LCSW preferred.
  2. Minimum of one-year experience providing clinical services to marginalized population.
  3. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  4. Ability to work well both independently and as a team member.
  5. Ability to work weekends and evenings.
