The Hardware Engineer/Maintainer supports integration, operations, and maintenance of the Program Ground infrastructure.

  • Provides support to the hardware, network, comm and antenna infrastructure within the Program.
  • Provides real time resolution of problems to avoid and/or minimize system downtime, by monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting, restoring outages, performing maintenance, and tracking issues.
  • Conducts or participates in the research, design, development, and testing of COTS or custom computing hardware and/or other electrical components.
  • Develops designs for the installation of and performs the integration of those components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, customer facilities, and/or shelters.
  • Plans, directs, reviews and coordinates preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met.
  • Prepares specifications, evaluates vendors, and analyzes test reports.
  • Work is to be done in accordance with the program processes.
  • An active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree with 9 years of professional experience
  • An active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance required
  • Experience with design, development, and testing of COTS or customer computing hardware / electrical components
  • Experience installing components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, etc.
  • Experience preparing project documentation
  • Experience with troubleshooting, restoring outages and performing maintenance

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
