Must have 2 yrs of recent Med Surg/Telemetrymetry experience along with Critical Access experience
Patient population: COPD with exacerbation, CHF, heavy emphasis on swing bed (average stay is 12 days) to keep patients local and care for patients with amputations, wound care, long term antibiotics, ect. There are some post partum and pediatric patients on this unit.
Ratio: 1:4, with 1:5 being a stretch. Charge Nurse available on every shift and does not take patients. Central Telemetrymetrymetry monitoring, with two portable Telemetrymetry monitors. Social Services available on floor with 3 Case Managers. There are typically 1-2 Nurse Aides or Unit Clerk available.
May float to ED but only function as a "task" nurse
