POSITION TITLE: Quality Control Field Inspector (QC Tech or CWI)

REPORTS TO: Manager of Quality Control
POSITION SUMMARY:

Knowledge of quality control procedures and code. Ability to learn quickly, read and interpret drawings or P&ID's, complete work with or without guidance. Keep an open line of communication with QC Supervisor. Work and communicate well with production to solve problems quickly and efficiently. Ability to work well with co-workers. Always represents the quality control department in a professional manner.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
  1. Incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily action.
  2. Utilize and improve the Wyatt Management System (WMS) for effective and efficient fulfillment of requirements from customers, regulators and Wyatt values, policies, objectives, and targets.
  3. Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with customer, subcontractor, vendor, craft, and Wyatt jobsite personnel.
  4. Employ organizational skills that effectively minimize obstacles that negatively impact the project. When obstacles arise, employ sound decision making/problem solving skills to resolve the issue.
  5. Coordinate quality control program with jobsite departments and contractors.
  6. Implement quality control procedures, inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment.
  7. Provide necessary interface with customer's inspectors on all aspects of quality.
  8. Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work as required.
  9. Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and codes when applicable.
  10. Perform system verification on completed systems to assure correct installation per design specifications.
  11. Travel to and remain at jobsite continuously until released by the QC Supervisor.
  12. Travel outside the local area, by air and car, when required to maintain position's essential functions.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge:

One year of technical training and/or related experience required in quality assurance in the construction industry.

Experience:

At least 3 years working in refining industry

At least 1 year of Quality Control experience

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:

-Valid state-issued driver's license

-TWIC card is required for most project job site entry

-AWS CWI or API 577 certifications preferred

Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required
