Chiquita Canyon Landfill , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Scale House Attendant / Office Clerk to join our team in Castaic, CA

The starting pay will be $20/hour. The pay range for this job category is $20-24/hour.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet and direct all customers upon entry to the correct location

  • Weighing trucks in and out of facility

  • Answer incoming phone calls from customers and vendors.

  • Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.

  • Effectively communicate with team members

  • Performs full clerical and general office duties.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

  • Review all manifests and paperwork as needed.

  • Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Providing general upkeep of the Scale House.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Good computer skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Prior cash handling experience required with the ability to balance a cash drawer daily

  • Reliability and punctuality is a must.

  • Ability to work independently
