Emory Healthcare is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to work with Dr. Christian Mustroph's Neurosurgery team at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dr. Mustroph's team and improve patient outcomes through innovation, compassion and excellence in Neurological and Orthopedic care.  

In this role, the ideal APP candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of Orthopedic or Neurosurgery experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Prior first assist experience is highly desired. Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP) for this role.  

The Orthopedic Neurology APP role will be a combination of 1st assist in the OR and independent parallel clinic.  

This is a weekday position and will not require call, overnights or weekends.

Description

The Orthopedic Neurology APP role working with Dr. Christian Mustroph at Emory John's Creek Hospital is open to experienced Orthopedic or Neurology Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners. 

Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP).

  • Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
  • Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records.
  • Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.
  • Under the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes.
  • Assists physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia.
  • American Heart Association BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas.
